SUMMARY:Webinar: Geo-Economics - geopolitical dynamics and the practical link to investment strategies
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to present Joachim Klement’s “Geo-Economics” in an exclusive webinar for CFA Society Sweden members. Don’t miss the opportunity to gain valuable insights that will deepen your understanding of the interplay between geopolitics\, economics\, and investments. Sign up now for this enlightening webinar and elevate your perspective in the ever-evolving landscape of geo-economic finance. \nJoachim Klement\, in his groundbreaking book “Geo-Economics: The Interplay between Geopolitics\, Economics\, and Investments\,” provides a unique perspective on international political economy (IPE) from an investor’s standpoint. Departing from traditional IPE scholarship\, Mr Klement’s work focuses on the practical implications for markets and market prices\, making it a must-read for scholars and investment management practitioners. \nThe book delves into significant international challenges such as US–China competition\, energy and natural resources\, data and cyber security\, and climate change\, approaching these issues as essential conflicts and exploring their potential resolutions. Klement’s insights bridge the gap between geopolitics and investment\, offering a fresh and focused perspective that adds a new dimension to contemporary debates. \nKlement’s practical experience as an investor sets this work apart\, providing a poignant translation of the logic of conflict into the logic of the markets. Unlike other texts that offer a historical perspective\, “Geo-Economics” delivers a unique and insightful connection between geopolitical dynamics and investment strategies. \nAbout Your Speaker\nJoachim Klement is an investment strategist and former chief investment officer with 20 years of experience in financial markets worldwide. He spent most of his career working with high-net-worth individuals and family offices\, advising them on investments and helping them manage their portfolios. He has also managed equity portfolios for banks and independent asset managers. Today\, Joachim heads the Strategy\, Accounting\, and Sustainability team at Liberum Capital\, where he focuses on stock markets and helps investors navigate not only traditional financial and economic risks but also risks emanating from environmental\, social\, and governance issues\, as well as geopolitics. \n  \nFor more information\, please have a look at Mr Klement´s full book here: https://rpc.cfainstitute.org/research/foundation/2021/geo-economics \n  \nPlease register for the event. SUMMARY:Webinar: Ethics in Practice &the Ethical Decision-Making Model
DESCRIPTION:Do only bad people make ethically questionable decisions? In today’s fast-paced and high-pressure world\, busy finance and investment professionals often face ethical dilemmas where they must choose between competing and equally compelling options. Using real-life examples\, we will identify the internal and external forces that can lead any conscientious professional to act unethically. Bradford investigates matters involving alleged violations of the CFA Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct by charterholders and candidates that are industry related. SUMMARY:Swedish Small Caps vs. the World
DESCRIPTION:CFA Society Sweden and Pareto Asset Management invite you to an exciting event on Swedish small caps performance. \nSwedish small-cap stocks have proven to be among the most robust performers worldwide from 2005 to date\, enduring numerous bull and bear market cycles. Swedish small caps have consistently beaten major benchmarks such as the Stockholm Stock Exchange index\, the Nasdaq Composite\, and the S&P 500 index. \nThis sustained outperformance is primarily attributable to their lasting profitability growth\, specifically in terms of earnings per share (EPS). The Swedish small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) sector\, as a whole\, remains exceptionally resilient and continues to experience substantial growth. This phenomenon is not confined to Sweden alone; it has broader implications for the entire Nordic region\, which shares similar economic dynamics. \nYour speakers:\nJon Hyltner\nPortfolio Manager\, Enter Fonder AB \nJon Hyltner has been the Portfolio Manager of Enter Småbolagsfond at Enter Fonder AB since September 2019 and Enter Preserve since April 2018. Jon has about 15 years of experience in the stock market. Previously\, he worked at Handelsbanken Capital Markets and Swedbank\, where he worked as an equity analyst with a focus on Swedish small companies. Jon holds a Master’s in Economics from the Gothenburg School of Business. \n  \nStefan Ericson\, CFA\nLead Portfolio Manager\, Pareto ESG Global Corporate Bond & Branch Manager  \nStefan Ericson (CFA) is the lead portfolio manager for Pareto Global Corporate Bond and portfolio manager for Pareto Nordic Corporate Bond.
