CFA Program

Administered by CFA Institute, the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) Program is a graduate-level, self-study curriculum and examination program for investment specialists.

Established in 1962, the CFA Program sets the global standard for investment knowledge, standards, and ethics. Earning the credential can serve as a passport to entry or advancement within the investment profession around the world. The designation tells clients, employers, and colleagues that the Charterholder has mastered a rigorous curriculum covering a broad range of investment topics and that he or she is committed to the highest ethical standards in the profession.

CFA Sweden is the obvious local society for all members of CFA Institute. As CFA Sweden aspires to involve the leading local investment practitioners in our committee programs, the society also strives to engage a wider group of Swedish investment professionals.

Our society encourages its members to earn the CFA charter and supports candidates by sponsoring CFA exam study groups and other programs.

CFA Preparation

Since its establishment, CFA Society Sweden has the stated goal of supporting local candidates in their efforts to pursue the CFA Charter. Obtaining the charter is not an easy task, and we try to offer candidates various means to encourage them in their course of study. Some of our efforts are done in close cooperation with CFA Institute in Charlottsville and some are done independently or together with  partner societies from all over the world. We strive to offer a wide range of assistance that may be of help to the candidate.

The CFA Program is designed as a self-study program. One extra challenge arises as the candidate does not always have somebody to discuss topics and problems with during the course of study. CFA Society Sweden offers various solutions to this, including Study Groups, Prep-courses and Mock Exams. So, if you are a CFA candidate in Sweden, please take some time to check what we offer below.

Study Groups

CFA Society Sweden is keen to support candidates that want to organize or join study groups for the CFA exam. Joining a study group is an effective resource in preparing for the exam. These groups will be informal in nature and the ability of CFA Society Sweden to assist in setting them up is dependent on the interest we get from candidates. If you are planning to take the CFA exam, consider organizing or joining a study group.

If you are interested, please send an email to info@cfasweden.se stating your name, telephone number and which level you are sitting for.

Preparatory Courses

Every year, CFA Society Sweden tries to coordinate with external providers of Prep Courses in order to be able to offer candidates a short sum up before the exam. Structured Prep courses have helped many candidates in their preparation and made it easier for them to wrap up their learning process before the actual exam. Although it is not possible to tackle all details in a short course, being with an experienced instructor, discussing some of the challenging issues in the program as well as getting some useful tips on how to study, can be very helping.

Over the years, many candidates have recognized the difficulty of being adequately mentally prepared to sit for the six-hour exam. They think the stress of the exam situation affected their performance to a large extent. This is why we organized a Trial Exam in the actual location of the real exam by mimicking the  process candidates will go through on exam day. Not only is it a good way to test your knowledge one month before the real exam, but we also believe it is good mental preparation for the exam experience.

Other Events

As a CFA candidate in Sweden, you have access to a large network of investment professionals, through contact with current candidates/future CFA charterholders as well as with current charterholders.

We regularly arrange a number of both professional and more informal social events where you can freely discuss any issues with CFA Charter holders and members of the Society.
